Ok, it’s always fun to have a laugh at managements expense. We all do it! This one was sent to me by a friend that had just had a fight with her boss. We had a good chuckle about it!
A balloon ride to nowhere
Norman decides to take a balloon ride on offer at the local May Day Fair. The balloon and its customers drift along in the breeze, but eventually they are lost. Norman has no idea where he is, so when the gondolier takes the basket down to ten feet above ground he calls to a passer-by: 'Excuse me, sir, can you tell me where I am?'
After looking Norman up and down, the passer-by says: 'You are in a red balloon, ten feet above ground.' The balloon's unhappy resident replied, 'You must be a lawyer'
'How could you possible know that?' asked the passer-by. 'Because your answer is technically correct but absolutely useless, and the fact is I am still lost'.
'Then you must be in management', said the passer-by. 'That's right! How did you know?' 'You have such a good view from where you are, and yet you don't know where you are and you don't know where you are going. The fact is you are in the exact same position you were in before we met, but now your problem is somehow my fault!'

This is a wonderfully warming dish. Because it's a quick midweek dish, bung it in the oven without browning the sausages first. This is guaranteed to be a hit with everyone in the house!
Sausages with leeks, apples and cider recipe
Serves four
Takes 15 minutes to make
50 minutes - one hour in the oven.
Ingredients
3 leeks washed and cut into 2.5cm lengths.
2 apples cored and cut into wedges.
8 pork sausages
3 tbsp olive oil
25g butter
250ml medium cider
2 tbsp wholegrain mustard
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/ fan170°C/gas 5. Put the leeks and apples into a roasting tin that will hold the sausages in a single layer. Put the sausages on top of the leeks and apples and drizzle over the oil. Season and toss together. Dot with the butter and pour over the cider. Bake for 50 minutes to one hour.
2. About 15 minutes before it's ready, spread the mustard over the sausages and return to the oven.
3. Serve the sausages and leeks with extra pan juices spooned over and mash or rosemary roasted potatoes.
