Giggle for the Day: Be nice to your kids. They'll choose your nursing home. LOL!
School holidays... enough to test the patience of a saint and we all know that I ain't no saint! Anyone looking for some spare kids? They are house trained... kinda. To be honest, I am really looking forward to them going back to school. Then I can have time to do what needs to be done and play a few (ha ha!) games of bingo!
Get to know the Linked Games schedule by heart... there is £32,000 in guaranteed games, so there is HUGE incentive to participate.
So let’s settle in for a while and chat away about what’s been happening and what’s on offer!

Bingo man got a job, but got a fine
If you live in an area with one of the highest unemployment rates in the UK, with 83 people chasing every vacancy, you would think that any initiative that might result in removing someone from those figures would be applauded. It would appear the Hull City Council do not think so.
Daniel Bird, 20, has been fined £75 by his local council as a result of his job seeking efforts. He managed to secure a job thanks to his creativity and the manager of the local bingo club, Steven Jones. However, as what he did was to put up posters around the city with his picture and the plea, 'Will someone give me job?', the £75 fine has been levied by the Council as a penalty for fly posting.
The bingo manager saw the posters on his way to work and decided to offer Daniel an interview to be a team assistant. He said, "As I walked in to work they were every 10ft or so. I thought it was really proactive, he was showing entrepreneurial skills and he was obviously really desperate for a job and I thought it was a good way to do it."
Daniel posted nearly 200 flyers and had secured his job with the bingo hall within a week. Daniel said, "I am shocked by this. I am not some kind of criminal, just someone who was trying really hard to find a job. I just felt desperate after being told 'no' again and again."
While disappointed about the fine, Daniel says gaining the job with the bingo hall has restored his sense of pride and he is thoroughly enjoying his new role.

I came across this cute joke the other day. Enjoy!
School humour
A class went on a school trip to Rome. On the Sunday they all went to church and when they came out the teacher said, `I hope you all behaved.' `Oh, yes, sir,' said one girl. `A kind man offered me a plate full of money but I said, "no thanks".'
ROFL! Send in your Joke for the Week, and if your joke is chosen and published in the weekly newsletter, you will receive an added $10 bonus in BBz. Laughter IS the best medicine, so let's have a chuckle together.
Email me your jokes for next week's newsletter. Thanks for all the jokes we’ve received. Keep 'em coming. |

A wonderful recipe for lemon and coriander chicken - courtesy of a great friend of mine – who happens to be a wonderful cook.
Lemon and coriander chicken recipe
Serves five
Ingredients
FLAVOUR RUB
1 T Chicken spice
1 t sugar
Grated zest of 1 lemon
1 T Coriander pesto
2 T olive oil
CHICKEN
1/2 lemon (use half of the one from which zest was grated)
2 t sugar
Chicken spice
1/2 cup lemon marinade
3/4 cup boiling water
1 x 25 g sachet of chicken stock
5 peeled potatoes
Potato spice
Directions
Cut out the backbone of the chicken, bend the ribcage open and flatten the chicken with the back of your hand. Carefully loosen the skin over the breast, thighs and drum-sticks.
Mix all the ingredients for the flavour rub together and spread it under the skin of the chicken. Adjust the oven rack to one slot below the middle and preheat the oven to 160*C. Slice half the lemon (from which the skin was grated) and lay thin slices in a medium/large ovenproof dish. Sprinkle sugar over the lemon. Season the underside of the chicken with chicken spice.
Position the chicken on the lemon slices, skin side up. Season the chicken with a little more chicken spice. Pour lemon marinade evenly over chicken.
Dissolve the concentrated chicken stock in the boiling water and carefully pour it in on the side of the dish so as not to wash the marinade off the chicken. Season the potatoes with Potato Spice and tuck them in all around the chicken.
Place the chicken in the oven (covered) and roast for 1 hour until nicely browned. Remove the cover and roast uncovered for a further 30 minutes. Leave to rest, out of the oven, for 10 minutes before carving.
Serve with creamed spinach, honey glazed butternut and a green salad.
Good luck! If you have any recipes that you would like to share with us, then why not drop us an email? If your recipe is published in the newsletter, then you will receive $10 bonus in BBz. |
