Bingo in Jamaica
Everyone knows the places where bingo is popular. All across the UK, bingo has been a hobby for many years and is played by both the elderly and the young. Bingo is also popular in Canada, America and many other European countries.
What about the Caribbean though? We came across an interesting and unique video today to show you just how much the game of bingo is loved ALL over the world. In this video we take you into the middle of a bingo game in the middle of Jamaica.
As you can see, this not your typical bingo game as it's clearly a poor part of Jamaica. This is a great cultural bingo video, that may make you appreciate your own bingo hall more. It will especially make you feel how lucky a nice game of online bingo is for those who have access. We often take it for granted! This Jamaican game of bingo is the definition of homemade. The cards are either very thin bamboo paper or just drawn right onto the table with lead!
The chips used to cover the numbers are nothing more than pebbles collected from outside. And what about the bingo balls? They are more pebbles, with numbers on them. The caller simply shakes a bag of rocks before he reaches in the bag to pull out the "ball".
It is a very low budget game of bingo, but make no mistake, it is for real money! And they are having a ton of fun, no matter what the setup is like. Watch as they dance, gamble, drink and smoke the hot Caribbean afternoon away.

What would Christmas be without delicious homemade mulled wine? It is easy to make and tastes so much better than the store bought varieties. Combining citrus, spice and sweetness, James Martin's recipe for our favourite tipple at Christmas is deliciously aromatic.
Mulled Wine
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Serves: 6 - 8
Ingredients
2 oranges
2 lemons
3 x 750 ml bottles red wine
2 vanilla pods, split
1 cinnamon stick
1 litres water
900 g caster sugar
3 cloves
4 juniper berries
1 bay leaf
Method
1. Peel the rind from the oranges and lemons and squeeze the juice from the fruit.
2. Combine the rind and juice in a large pot and add the remaining ingredients. Gently bring the mixture to the boil, and then leave for 10 minutes to infuse. Serve warm.
