Giggle for the Day: I was reading this book today, 'The History of Glue.' I couldn't put it down. LOL!
February – the month of Love. Well, my hubby knows after last year that if he gives me a Topshop voucher again there will be a divorce, LOL! Is one night of seduction too much to ask for? Maybe I will just stay home and get some love from my favourite Roomies! Read the News of the Week – I forwarded this to my hubby, nudge, nudge, wink, wink...if you know what I mean!
Let's not forget that today is World Cancer Day and unfortunately we have all been touched in some way by this dreadful disease. Remember to play in the special £300 Guaranteed Tickled Pink Game scheduled for 28 February. Proceeds will go to a Cancer charity. Support this important cause!
Settle in for a while; let’s chat away about what’s been happening and what’s on offer!

Valentine's Day: Simple Tips for a Memorable Romantic Affair
Every February we celebrate love in all its charming, meaningful, and mushy glory. And if you are finding the typical candlelit dinner too predictable and boring by now, then ditch the routine and keep things fresh. A little change, from simple gestures to indulging on lovely Valentine's Day hotel packages, might just make that special day truly unforgettable.
Do something different: You might be the type not to be caught dead slaving over a hot stove or you're the kind of person who's just too busy with the usual work routine. For this day, however, a little change of pace may give that special someone the lovely surprise they need. Take the time to serve up a hearty breakfast in bed, join her for a quick lunch, or deliver that bouquet of roses yourself. It may be a small token of love but the sudden turn will surely be appreciated.
Write a love letter: With all the conveniences of technology, anyone can send a sweet email or a thoughtful SMS message. Still, there's something uniquely thoughtful about writing a good old-fashioned note with all your thoughts and feelings expressed in a piece of paper – an absolute treasure.
Share a piece of your heart: If being with them is next to impossible this Valentine's Day, send them a care package to show how much you truly love them. Setting aside that great distance between you two, add in every possible object or item that reminds you of them each day. It's a way to show them that for you, they're never too far away.
Make a grand gesture: Go ahead and take her out of town for a weekend retreat. Don't be afraid to splurge as special occasions like Valentine's Day call for special celebrations..
Pamper yourself: Who says you can't have fun when you're single? Go out and spend a day at the spa or stay in and indulge in a day of relaxation as you watch your favourite films. Have fun with your closest single friends and paint the town red. There's nothing like a night of partying with great company to take the blues away.

Twenty-five Roomies hit their chosen Bingo Ball for Life numbers 37 times last week. They each took home their share of the weekly £1,000 jackpot.
Take a look at these two lovely testimonials from previous BBFL winner's – hasbean & eurohh:
“I enjoy this site very much and I'm over the moon at winning. I will most likely spend the winnings on playing more bingo, lol. What I enjoy most about this site is the very friendly roomies, it’s like a big family and the chat hosts are very welcoming and helpful.”
“Thank you Giggle for making my Tuesday a very special day. I think the whole BBFL game is great fun and makes the daily playing extra exciting. The more I look around on Giggle the more I like it - and the more I feel at home here. The CHs are all very helpful, fun and fair. My winning this week on my BBFL will be used on pre-buying some extra tickets...to celebrate my luck :-) and spoil myself a bit.”

This may be a bit long but it’s worth the read. The Edinburgh Comedy Festival is a great laugh and every year we get to hear about all the highlights...and lowlights!
The Top 10 Edinburgh Festival Funnies 2010:
- Tim Vine: I've just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I'll tell you what, never again.
- David Gibson: I'm currently dating a couple of anorexics. Two birds, one stone.
- Emo Philips: I picked up a hitch hiker. You've got to when you hit them.
- Jack Whitehall: I bought one of those anti-bullying wristbands when they first came out. I say "bought", I actually stole it off a short, fat ginger kid.
- Gary Delaney: As a kid I was made to walk the plank. We couldn't afford a dog.
- John Bishop: Being an England supporter is like being the over-optimistic parents of the fat kid on sports day.
- Bo Burnham: What do you call a kid with no arms and an eye patch? Names.
- Gary Delaney: Dave drowned. So at the funeral we got him a wreath in the shape of a lifebelt. Well, it's what he would have wanted.
- Robert White: For Vanessa Feltz, life is like a box of chocolates: Empty.
- Gareth Richards: Wooden spoons are great. You can either use them to prepare food. Or, if you can't be bothered with that, just write a number on one and walk into a pub...
ROFL! Send in your Joke for the Week, and if your joke is chosen and published in the weekly newsletter, then you will receive an added £10 bonus in BBz. Laughter IS the best medicine, so let’s have a chuckle together.
Email me your jokes for next week’s newsletter. Thanks for all the jokes we’ve received. Keep ’em coming. |

I have termed this recipe for Banana Choc Chip Muffins "evil" because it’s not low fat or good for you. But it’s absolutely delicious and worth the indulgence!
Banana Choc Chip Muffins recipe
Makes 12 regular muffins
Ingredients
60g butter
2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
2 ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 200C. Line a regular muffin tin (12 muffin cups) with paper cases or, in my case, whip out your nifty silicone muffin cases!
Melt butter in a small saucepan or heat-proof bowl in the microwave and set aside to cool slightly.
Sift flour into a mixing bowl and stir in sugar.
In a separate jug, using a whisk lightly beat milk, eggs and butter. Make a well in the centre of dry ingredients and add the liquid to the dry ingredients, along with the mashed banana.
Using a wooden spoon, gently mix ingredients until just combined; then stir in the choc chips. Don't beat the mixture - just mix until everything is moist.
Spoon the mixture evenly into the muffin cases. Bake for 20 minutes until golden on top and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. Leave in the tray for 5 minutes, and then transfer the muffins to a wire rack to cool.
Good luck! If you have any recipes that you would like to share with us, then why not drop us an email? If your recipe is published in the newsletter, then you will
receive £10 bonus in BBz. |
